About the SedationFacts Website

As the field of endoscopic sedation experiences rapid change, the SedationFacts web site offers practicing Gastroenterologists, Gastroenterology nurses and Gastroenterology fellows a comprehensive resource for current, objective, evidence-based information concerning endoscopic sedation.

This website was created to provide Gastroenterology clinicians information that can sustain and improve patient safety associated with endoscopic sedation. Physicians, nurses and fellows are invited to use SedationFacts.org to access articles by leading Gastroenterology physicians and nurses, find in-depth information on the physiology and pharmacology of endoscopic sedation, and get helpful links to current practice guidelines and regulations.

SedationFacts.org represents a joint initiative of four Gastroenterology physician and nurse associations:

American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy (ASGE)
The ASGE serves as program director for SedationFacts, and members of the ASGE chair the executive and content committees.

AGA Institute
The AGA chairs the site promotion committee and has members on the executive and content committees.

Society of Gastroenterology Nurses and Associates, Inc. (SGNA)
The SGNA has members on the executive, content and site promotion committees.

The American College of Gastroenterology (ACG)
The ACG has members on the executive, content and site promotion committees.

Leading Gastroeneterology physicians and nurses representing these four associations serve as content reviewers and contributors to the SedationFacts website. They did not receive compensation for their participation. For more information on contributors, see About the Faculty.

The SedationFacts.org Conflict of Interest Resolution Committee is composed of Sandra Anne Cialfi, MBA BSN RN CGRN, of the SGNA; Mark DeLegge, MD, of the AGA; and Brian Fennerty, MD, of the ASGE.
